Facebook - How do you prevent stories of you using the friend finder or inviting somebody in Live Feed?

I’ve been seeing on the Live Feed that friends have used the Friend Finder function and the Facebook Invitation. How does somebody prevent those stories from being published in the Live Feed? Note that I don’t want to know how to delete this or prevent stories in the Mini-Feed and/or News Feed. What privacy category would those be under?

How do I delete one person from the Facebook Highlights section?

Maybe this is impossible. But I have a relative who goes nuts on facebook and the whole highlights section in the right column is filled with lists of celebrities he has become a “fan” of. I would like to get rid of this without deleting him as a Facebook friend. How do I do this?
